What is this Roller Derby Boot Camp about?
Roller Derby Boot Camp a recruiting/training program for South Side Roller Derby.
I was wondering if you could give me more information about South Side Roller Derby's teams and boot camps.
SSRD has 7 competing teams, and 1 "team" of FreshMeat (aka new chics, that are bumping up their skills in order to be able to be drafted to one of our competing teams!) In order to be on FreshMeat, you'd have to complete Tryouts with flying colors (be able to skate well..take hits..falls..etc). In order to to learn these skills (if you dont have em already) come to our BootCamps (Held every Monday from 8-9pm) BootCamp classes are 10 dollars per class, and you must have quad speed skates, pads, and a helmet in order to participate.
Once you've learned your mad skills at bootcamp, then you try out, pass, and join our cult! after you've been in the cult (aka been on the league!) for 30 days...you'll be elegible to be drafted to a competing team. (once you joined the league...practices are held Monday/Wednesday/Thursday*7-9pm*/Saturdays*team practices in the mornings* - dont have to make every practice..but need to make most.)
I'm already on a league. Can I just come workout with yall?
We love seeing other girls form other leagues pop in and skate with us. So if your ever in the Houston area come skate with us.
I don't want to be in roller derby can I just come skate for the work out?
Yes!! Come get sweaty :o)
What kind of gear do I need?
